This dataset presents a personal checklist of plant species observed within Jigme Singye Wangchuck National Park (JSWNP), the third largest national park in Bhutan, covering approximately 1,730 km². The data were collected between October 2015 and August 2019, during my tenure working in the park. JSWNP spans a wide elevational and ecological gradient, from subtropical broadleaf forests to alpine meadows, and harbors rich biodiversity, including many rare and endemic species. During this period, I documented various plant species through field observations and photography, primarily for personal reference and learning. This checklist reflects species encountered across different habitats within the park and is intended to contribute to the growing body of biodiversity knowledge for Bhutan. While not exhaustive or systematic, the dataset provides valuable records from under-documented areas and complements other floristic inventories in the region.

With the ratification of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) in 1995 by the 73rd session of the National Assembly, the National Biodiversity Centre became the implementing agency for the CBD and the National Focal Point for the Nagoya Protocol on access to genetic resources and the fair and equitable sharing of benefits arising from their utilization, as designated during the 44th Commission meeting of the National Environment Commission. The Biodiversity Act of Bhutan 2022 mandates the National Biodiversity Centre, in consultation with relevant agencies, to serve as the National Focal Point, coordinate and develop national management strategies, and furnish a list of invasive alien species to regulatory authorities for import regulation. In line with this mandate, the National Biodiversity Centre, with funding support from Bhutan for Life, has conducted various field trips to record invasive plant species across the country.

A survey was conducted to enumerate the flora of the College of Natural resources as an assignment for the Module “Systematic Botany and Ethnobotany”. This survey covered the boys hostel area and the agriculture field above the village covering 3.15 hectares. The survey showed that there is slightly a greater number of introduced plants than native plants in the study area. Largest number of plants were in family Asteraceae. Herbs represent the dominant type of plant. This checklist has some plants encountered from the above mentioned place within the college campus along with occurrence data but it does not represent the overall campus flora.
