Description

This is a list of seed plants (angiosperms and gymnosperms) recorded from the Toorsa Strict Nature Reserve in Bhutan.

Data Records

The data in this checklist resource has been published as a Darwin Core Archive (DwC-A), which is a standardized format for sharing biodiversity data as a set of one or more data tables. The core data table contains 266 records.

This IPT archives the data and thus serves as the data repository. The data and resource metadata are available for download in the downloads section. The versions table lists other versions of the resource that have been made publicly available and allows tracking changes made to the resource over time.

Geographic Coverage

The Toorsa Strict Nature Reserve lies mostly in Haa dzongkhag with a very small area spreading south into Samtse dzongkhag in western Bhutan. This reserve covers an area of 650 sq. km and is the only reserve in Bhutan without human settlements. It protects the western most variant of central temperate forests in the country ranging from broadleaf forests to alpine parks and includes the small lake of Sinchulunga. Being virtually uninhabited, the Reserve has one of the most pristine temperate forests and alpine vegetation in the entire Himalayas.
