Coupled Model Intercomparison Project Phase 6 (CMIP6) data sets assist the science community in conducting studies on climate change impacts at regional scales, and enhance public understanding of possible future climate patterns of homogenous regions at spatial scales. The data sets contain high resolution (~100 kilometres) dynamical downscaling of World Climate Research Programme (https://www.wcrp-climate.org/) CMIP6 climate projections model data for SSP (126, 245, and 585) scenarios for the period 2015-2100. The CMIP6 precipitation and temperature data have been obtained from the Earth System Grid Federation (https://esgf-data.dkrz.de/projects/esgf-dkrz/) site. Detailed information about the data, including the terms of use, can be obtained from the CMIP6 (https://pcmdi.llnl.gov/CMIP6/) site.

Local projections of future sea-level change are important for understanding climate change risks and informing coastal management decisions. Reliable and relevant coastal risk information is especially important in South Asia, where large populations live in low-lying areas and are at risk from coastal inundation. A new set of local sea-level projections for selected tide gauge locations in South Asia have been produced over the 21st century under the RCP2.6, RCP4.5 and RCP8.5 scenarios by the UK Met Office for the Asia Regional Resilience to a Changing Climate Programme.

Coordinated Regional Climate Downscaling Experiment (CORDEX) data sets for the South Asian region assist the science community in conducting studies on climate change impacts at regional scales, and enhance public understanding of possible future climate patterns of homogenous regions at spatial scales. We have obtained these data sets from the Earth System Grid Federation (https://esgf-data.dkrz.de/projects/esgf-dkrz/) site. Detailed information about the data, including FAQs (https://cordex.org/faq/faq-data-and-access/) and terms of use, can be obtained from the WCRP CORDEX (https://cordex.org) site. The data sets contain high resolution (~50 kilometres) dynamical downscaling of World Climate Research Programme (https://www.wcrp-climate.org/) CMIP5 (formally: Coupled Model Intercomparison Project Phase 5) climate projections model data for RCP (2.5, 4.5, and 8.5) scenarios for the period 1951–2100 for the South Asian region.
