- Description
- The Toorsa Strict Nature Reserve lies mostly in Haa dzongkhag with a very small area spreading south into Samtse dzongkhag in western Bhutan. This reserve covers an area of 650 sq. km and is the only reserve in Bhutan without human settlements. It protects the western most variant of central temperate forests in the country ranging from broadleaf forests to alpine parks and includes the small lake of Sinchulunga. Being virtually uninhabited, the Reserve has one of the most pristine temperate forests and alpine vegetation in the entire Himalayas.
