- The Api Nampa Conservation Area (ANCA), established in 2010 is spread over an area of 1903 sq. km in Darchula District, Sudurpaschim Province, in western Nepal. ANCA encompassess parts or all of five Rural Minicipalities and one Municipality named after two mountain peaks, Mt Api (7132 masl) and Mt Nampa (6757 masl). Characterized by diverse topography and geology within Nepal's high mountain and high Himalayan physiographic zone, ANCA hosts diverse ecosystem and a wide variety of plants and animals, while also being rich in cultural sacred and spiritual heritage. The floral diversity includes 535 species of angiosperms, 12 species of gymnosperms and 69 species of Pteridophytes. The documented faunal diversity includes 43 species of mammals, 263 species of birds, 69 species of fish and at least 64 species of insects.
