CORDEX data sets for the South Asian region (1951–2100)

Coordinated Regional Climate Downscaling Experiment (CORDEX) data sets for the South Asian region assist the science community in conducting studies on climate change impacts at regional scales, and enhance public understanding of possible future climate patterns of homogenous regions at spatial scales.

We have obtained these data sets from the Earth System Grid Federation (https://esgf-data.dkrz.de/projects/esgf-dkrz/) site. Detailed information about the data, including FAQs (https://cordex.org/faq/faq-data-and-access/) and terms of use, can be obtained from the WCRP CORDEX (https://cordex.org) site.

The data sets contain high resolution (~50 kilometres) dynamical downscaling of World Climate Research Programme (https://www.wcrp-climate.org/) CMIP5 (formally: Coupled Model Intercomparison Project Phase 5) climate projections model data for RCP (2.5, 4.5, and 8.5) scenarios for the period 1951–2100 for the South Asian region.

Purpose
The Climate Data Download Tool (https://rds.icimod.org/clim) allows users to specify geographic area (i.e., basin, sub basin, or user-defined area of interest), temporal period, and other relevant parameters of the CORDEX data sets. It does not make any modifications to the data sets themselves.

The data sets are free to use for non-commercial purposes or, depending upon the model, may be used without any constraint. Please refer to the CORDEX Terms of Use document (http://is-enes-data.github.io/cordex_terms_of_use.pdf) and the CORDEX RCM list (http://is-enes-data.github.io/CORDEX_RCMs_info.html) for information on the terms of use of data sets from various institutions.

Each data set is presented “as is”.
